At least thats according to Alex McCord and LuAnn de Lesseps, two of the affluent, elite housewives on the new Bravo reality series, The Real Housewives of New York City.
The series a spinoff of the popular California-based show The Real Housewives of Orange County follows McCord, de Lesseps, and three other NYC socialites as they juggle their home lives and busy schedules.
And according to McCord and de Lesseps, being an NYC housewife in the cold, fast-paced Big Apple seems tougher than living in sunny Southern California.
de Lesseps says, We have to dress for four seasons!
McCord adds, New York City is so much faster and busier. In California, everything is much more spread out.
And de Lesseps believes the housewife duties differ in the West Coast versus the East Coast.
She explains, I think New York social life is a bit more demanding. In California, theres a more laid back attitude. You spend more time hanging out at home barbecuing. But all women, everywhere, are pillars of strength.
The Real Housewives of New York City premieres March 4 on Bravo.
