Comedian Takes Newbies Under His Wing

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Stand-up comedian Todd Glass is making showbiz amateurs’ dreams come true in just 24 hours.

Glass – best known for his run on Last Comic Standing – is one of the talent managers for Big Shot Live, an online talent search that gives one person, every day, the chance to audition in front of a Hollywood big wig and break into showbiz instantly.

Contestants can enter in categories like modeling, acting, dancing, singing, sports tricks, comedy, and TV hosting, and winners will score industry gigs ranging from a guest role on a TV show or movie, to modeling in an ad or dancing in a music video.

Glass believes the “instant gratification” of the contest sets it apart from other talent searches, and says things get exciting pretty fast for Hollywood hopefuls.

He explains, “A person can be sitting in front of their computer uploading a video of their acting talent, and 24 hours later, they have a speaking role on Guiding Light. One guy wanted to be a TV host and the next day he was interviewing Drew Carey on camera. It’s very cool.”

Glass is looking forward to talents in the sports tricks category, and hopes there’ll be some cool skateboarders showing off their skills because, in his words, “That’s something I could never do!”
