Beer Company Bets Big On Kurt Busch

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Miller Lite is hoping their star driver will be the toast of the town at the Daytona 500 (Feb. 17).

On Friday, February 15, at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Miller Lite – which sponsors the #2 car driven by NASCAR great Kurt Busch – is placing a $2,500 bet that Busch will beat out the car sponsored by beer rival Budweiser.

Miller has also put $25,000 on a bet that by the end of 2008, they’ll be ahead of the Bud car in the polls.

And if Busch beats his Bud rival at the Daytona 500, Miller won’t be stuffing their pockets – they’re donating all their winnings to the Kurt Busch Foundation, a childrens sports charity.

And while Bud has yet to bite on the bet, don’t look for a fight between the racing rivals.

Miller spokesperson Dockery Clarke says, “It’s just a fun way to show there’s more to racing than what you see. But I hope Busch wins, and he’s up there on the podium drinking out of a big oversized Miller Lite bottle!”

And there are no sore losers – if Miller loses the year- long wager, they’ll still make a $5,000 donation to the charity.
