SAG Awards Glamour Reflects Golden Age Of Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are this Sunday (Jan. 27) on TBS, but the glitz and glamour of the big show doesn’t come easy!

To get the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles ready for the celebration, crews are laying down 16,476.145 square feet of red carpet in the celebrity arrivals area, and draping the interior of the Shrine entrance with 5,500 feet of gold fabric.

Other SAG stats include...

  • Five classic “Actor” statues will be positioned along the red carpet and on stage.

  • Three antique chrome and glass chandeliers will hang above the stage, while five chandeliers are hung from the Expo Hall’s ornate ceiling.

  • 3,300 gold-rimmed glasses, 2,200 pieces of gold cutlery, and 1,100 gold-rimmed, white china chargers will be placed on 86 dinner tables where the stars and SAG members will dine.

  • The Gold Chiavari guest chairs will be lined with 1,100 ivory silk seat cushions.

  • The menu, from renowned chef Alan Jackson, will include delicacies like Poached Lamb Loin with basil mousse and lentil salad, and Grilled Vegetable Terrine with sherry and dry cured olive focaccia.

  • And the bar will feature 192 bottles of wine for tasting, 234 magnums of champagne, and 1578 glass decanters of Voss sparkling and still water.
