Miceal Ledwith, a former theology professor and priest, is bringing light to the subject of orbs, or spirits that appear as spots of light on photographs, in his new book The Orb Project (Atria Books).
Ledwith has collected 150,000 pictures of orb phenomenon, and teaches amateur ghost hunters how to tell a genuine orb from pollen, dust, and light reflections, which are commonly mistaken for ghosts.
He says, Its really easy to tell the difference. You have to eliminate all other possibilities, but I think the majority of cases are real.
Ledwith says happy people are more susceptible to seeing the ghostly sightings, but anyone can train themselves to see spirits.
Ledwith explains, Our eyes take in 90 percent of what we actually see, but our brain discards what we dont need. You have to communicate to your brain that these things are important and that you want to see them.
