Hug Out The Hate

SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One cuddle-crazy cause is telling people to hug out the hate.

HugNation is a movement that has people hugging themselves and others in front of their computer web cams every Tuesday to promote worldwide compassion and understanding.

And creator John Halcyon Styn encourages participators of the cyber bear hug to embrace everyone, especially those they’d rather punch.

He says, “It’s the people you fear or dislike that should be first in line to be hugged. I’d give everything I have to embrace [President George W.] Bush for a good two minutes.”

According to Halcyon Styn, the perfect hug requires people to “let down all your walls physically and spiritually and allow yourself to melt into another person.”

But some still shrink away at the public display of affection.

Halcyon Styn says, “Every once in a while someone will go, ‘Hey. Aren’t you the hug guy?’ and I’ll say, ‘Yeah, you got a hug for me?’ and they kind of freak out. But there’s no way to fight fear better than hugging.”
