Have A Holly, Jolly, And Happening Holiday

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One party planning pro has tips on how to make sure your holidays are hip.

Home style guru Jonathan Fong has some cool Christmas ideas for people looking to get their homes ready for holiday parties, and he’s sharing them in his book, Parties That Wow: Setting the Stage for Creative Entertaining (Watson-Guptill).

Fong says decorating your home for holiday events is easy and cheap, and doesn’t take a creative genius to pull off.

He recommends first time decorators stick with two colors to keep their homes from looking “all over the place,” and that hanging cotton balls and ornaments from the ceiling, and wrapping boxes as gift props are festive and fun ways to hide clutter.

And according to Fong, the biggest decor disaster is not caring.

He says, “If the decor is great, it sets the stage for something special. The biggest mistake people make is not putting in any effort. At parties, I like to go around and fluff a little bit when people don’t try.”
