Crabby Chef Gets Sent Out To Sea

ORLANDO, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For his latest crabby creation, a chef in Orlando, Florida, went straight to the sopping source.

Ron Cope is the executive chef at Fulton’s Crab House in Orlando, Florida, and at tonight’s (Oct. 19), Flight of the Crab gala dinner, the crab-crazy chef will be cooking up some seafood he’s quite familiar with.

On Monday (Oct. 15), Chef Cope boarded a commercial crabbing vessel off the coast of Key West, Florida, and spent 11 hours fishing for the clawed critters, and getting a sneak preview of dinner softened his hard shell.

Chef Cope says, “I take it for granted. As a chef you say, ‘Send me 100 pounds of crab’ and boom, it’s at your door. I got to see step by step all the hands it touches – it really put in perspective all the work that goes into it.”

But Chef Cope isn’t ditching his chef hat for a fishing boat anytime soon.

He says, “Being on a boat for that long is kind of monotonous. Being a chef there’s always something new and different happening.”
