Clearup Needed In Columbus Day Controversy

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Columbus Day parades may be cruising through town today (Oct. 8), but a man in New York is calling for Christopher Columbus’ historical helpers to get the credit they deserve.

Robert Pinzon and his brother Joe are direct descendants of the Pinzon brothers – Vicente and Martin – who captained the famous ships the Nina and the Pinta, and according to Robert, it’s time history heard the true story behind the bold boaters.

Pinzon says, “If there’s going to be a Columbus Day parade, there should at least be a mention of the Pinzon brothers. Columbus deserves credit because he got the financing and put things together, but without these guys he couldn’t have done the voyage.”

But don’t look for Robert or his brother to be on any of the fantastic floats flying by.

The brothers recently opened Abracadabra Superstore, a costume and prop shop, and Robert says, “We’re busy getting ready for Halloween. We’re dressing up as conquistadors.”
