Unicorns Bring Cuddly Cuteness To War

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A toymaker in Seattle, Washington, is warming hearts with his Cold War creatures.

Novelty company Archie McPhee has come out with the Cold War Unicorn Play Set, and spokesperson David Wahl says his toys are more for playing than political positioning.

Wahl says, “They look like the old propaganda from the Cold War, just because it’s so over the top.”

And while the two mythical beasts – Freedom, colored like the U.S. flag, and Commie, a red unicorn with hammer and sickle tattooed on its hindquarter – can teach tiny tots a lesson, the fantasy figures have some adult appeal as well.

Wahl says, “These are for smart people with a certain sense of humor that will understand we’re not too serious about this.”
