Pageant Searches For Internet Beauty Queen

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For one pageant producer, beauty is in the eye of the Internet savvy beholder.

That’s the crowning news from web whiz John Ferber, who’s coordinating the “Miss Internet Pageant” now through January 31, 2008, on, where the web’s wannabe beauty queens can compete for the coveted cyber crown.

The winner – who’ll be decided upon by online voters – will receive more than $10,000 in cash and prizes, including a spread as the cover girl for the 2008 Miss Internet calendar.

And while stunning beauty is crucial to winning traditional pageants, Ferber says Miss Internet won’t win on beauty alone.

Ferber explains, “We’re looking for a woman who’ll represent the face of the Internet. She should be savvy, likeable, and popular. Good looks help, but they aren’t everything. We want a true representation of a real woman.”

And so far, real women are what the pageant is getting.

Ferber says about 250 “truly diverse” women have already entered, putting up profiles with facts and pictures of themselves for the public to vote on.

Ferber adds, “Right now the front runner is lovable, but not necessarily the epitome of a traditional beauty queen.”
