Dutch Rockers Get Government Green

GOES, Holland (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One band of Dutch rockers is set to ravage America – with help from their own Uncle Sam.

Racoon are releasing Another Day on October 2nd, but for these determined Dutch, the road to stardom has an interesting passenger.

That’s because the Dutch government, as part of a plan to support and spread Dutch culture, is bankrolling the stateside promotion of the rascally rockers, including money for tours, press, and videos,

Singer Bert van der Weide is wide-eyed and excited.

He says, “They’ve put their money on us because they know we’re good enough to make it outside of Holland. All people think about Holland is that we smoke weed, but we know how to make some good music too.”

But even with the suits picking up their musical tab, van der Weide says don’t expect the band to change their tune.

He says, “We make it, we write it, nobody says a thing about it. We’ve stuffed every penny into making music, and we believe in ourselves. We’re not lying out on a bed of flowers while the government pays for us.”
