Rob Hawkins excites the crowd as frontman for high energy rockers The Automatic Automatic, but he hasnt always had such a glamorous gig.
Hawkins spent more than three years scrubbing dishes in his hometown of Cardiff, Wales, but as an aspiring artist, it wasnt a total wash.
He says, It was better than being a waiter I didnt have to pretend to be nice to people, and I got to listen to music.
And Hawkins sink skills shaped the bands debut album, Not Accepted Anywhere, which hits shelves today (June 26).
The album addresses the drudgery of being stuck in a small town, and fans are soaking up every word.
Says Hawkins, Therere a lot of young people that have seen more of our shows than my mom and girlfriend have!
