Phony Cop-Outs Don’t Work With Traffic Cop

GLENDALE, CA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Next time you get pulled over by a cop, keep the outrageous excuses to yourself.

That’s the straight story according to Glendale, California, police officer Ed Malouf, who stars in Court TV’s new show Speeders, and says when it comes to scattered speeders, he’s heard it all.

Says Malouf: “Everyone’s got an excuse. One person told me, ‘I didn’t know my car could go this fast!’ Another said, ‘I just bought new sandals and they’re slippery, and making me press harder on the gas!’ I’ve pretty much heard it all.”

So, instead of coming up with bogus excuses, Malouf offers some helpful hints for how to act when you hear those fateful words: “License and registration please.”

Malouf urges drivers to be cooperative and respectful, and to save the real arguing for the judge.

He says, “Everyone I pull over says they were speeding because they have to go to the bathroom. But as soon as I come back with a ticket, they suddenly don’t have to go anymore.”

Speeders premieres on June 7.
