Golf-Cart Grad Hits The Road For The Big Easy

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A recent college grad is ditching the green and putting the golf-cart pedal to the medal to raise awareness for his beloved city of New Orleans.

Greg Thurnher has decided to drive his 21 mph, souped-up golf cart across 13 cities beginning this Saturday (May 20) in order to represent the freedom and spirit of his college city, The Big Easy.

The Tulane University grad will start his trip in Los Angeles and plans to end in New Orleans on June 1, and will be followed around in his golf cart by a group of friends and supporters riding in a limo, which will serve as a mobile entertainment center.

But it’s not just a mini Mardi-gras for these Louisiana lovers.

Thurnher says, “This trip is a symbol of how unique and limitless New Orleans is. We’re going to have a good time, but we have a genuine concern for the city.”

Thurnher looks forward to each city’s gracious welcome, including a bayou bash on San Antonio, Texas’s Riverwalk, but it’s his good ol’ Crescent City he’s most jazzed about.

He says, “We’re leaving the final destination party up the imagination of New Orleans. It’s the spirit of the city, you never know what’s going to happen.”

Thurnher’s documented journey can be seen on
