‘King Of Queens’ Is Dead; Long Live The ‘King’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The King Of Queens will end its nine-year run next month, but cast member Gary Valentine insists the sitcom still rules.

Although the show hasn’t received as much media attention as, say, Everybody Loves Raymond or Friends, Valentine is confident the fan base will only get bigger in coming years.

Says Valentine: “You’ve heard of Trekkies? Well, they’re going to be replaced by ‘Queenies.”’

Valentine – who is also the brother of series star Kevin James – says he’s satisfied with the run, and feels “we’re going out on top.”

Still, he admits the other actors will leave with some very pleasant memories – of working with him.

In his words, “The whole cast enjoys working with me and being at my beckoned call. That, and the fact there are no egos on set.”
