‘Reno 911’ Actors Get Standing Ovation From Real Reno Cops

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’d think Reno cops would be fed up with the cast of Reno 911! constantly spoofing them but, in real life, they give them two thumbs up.

The cast of the cult comedy found that out first hand when they flew out to “The Biggest Little City in the World” to hang out with a contest winner and were met at the airport by Reno police officers.

Actor Cedric Yarbrough – who plays ladies man Deputy Jones on the show – says, at first, he thought they were all going to get it from the cops because they “had mean faces and were so serious” but as they got off the plane they could hear “that slow, out-of-a-movie clap, clap, clap.”

Says Yarbrough: “They understand. Weird, kooky cops have been around since the Keystone days. We just happen to single out Reno.”

After the warm welcome, the cast went about their business although Yarbrough admits he hasn’t been back to Reno since most of the show is filmed in Carson, California.

Season five of Reno 911! premieres April 1 on Comedy Central.
