‘October Road’ Actor Uses High School Friends As Artistic Inspiration

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to writing about what you know, one actor turns to his high school friends for inspiration.

On the new ABC drama October Road, actor Brad William Henke plays the friend of a screenwriter, but in real life he’s the one penning scripts.

In fact, Henke and his wife just finished writing a screenplay together that draws inspiration from his high school friends – much like series lead Bryan Greenberg’s character does on the show.

Says Henke: “Bryan’s character gets in a lot of trouble for writing about his friends, but mine haven’t done anything too drastic yet.”

One place Henke doesn’t find inspiration is the October Road set.

He explains: “I never write on the set. My focus is completely on the character at all times and I really can’t do two things at once.”

October Road premieres March 15 on ABC.
