Fire Ant Attack No Longer Bugs ‘Survivor’ Cast-Off

RAMSEY, Minn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being eliminated from Survivor because of a bug attack would bug most people.

However, Gary Stritesky says it gave him a new outlook on life.

Stritesky was removed for medical reasons this past Thursday (Mar. 1) after he started suffering vertigo and shortness of breath.

Although the Survivor medical crew found nothing wrong, Stritesky blames his condition on bug bites and believes they were specifically fire ants.

Stritesky says when he returned home, he and his wife looked up his symptoms and discovered they were the classic symptoms of a fire ant attack.

He admits he was worried when he got hurt because a friend had died while on a tropical vacation in Jamaica and he didn’t want to suffer the same fate.

Luckily, he didn’t, but Stritesky says the experience made him “appreciate my wife and kids more.”

Despite that newfound love, Stritesky admits he’d gladly repeat the Survivor experience in a second if he had the chance.
