Call Her ‘Dance-ica’ McKellar Now

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Danica McKellar is best known for playing Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years, but she wants to trade acting for dancing.

These days, McKellar plays a curious motherly sleuth on the Lifetime Movie Network’s series Inspector Mom, and says some of the most enjoyable scenes to film were ones where she had to ballroom dance while solving a crime.

Says McKellar: “I got to dance the tango with professional ballroom dancer Gocha Chertkove, and we had to act out the dialogue between us to flow with the rhythm of the dance. It was so fun.”

While McKellar enjoyed combining acting with dancing, she admits she “practiced like crazy” to get the moves and lines right, and used her “producer power” to make some rules.

She adds, “I made sure we taped those scenes last so I had enough time to practice and not get frustrated or look stupid.”

Due to her “secret passion” for dance, McKellar isn’t opposed to taking her hobby further and maybe one day appearing on Dancing With The Stars, “...if and when the time is right.”

Inspector Mom airs March 8.
