Cast member Sarah Carter, who plays attorney Madeline Poe, says Woods is adamant about all the actors getting strong roles.
As she puts it, Hes driving the ship, but he wants our characters to take precedence. He loves playing with us and figures the stronger our characters, the better the show.
To that end, Carter says the actors are allowed to add their own little twists to their characters.
For instance, Carter has Poe speak with gritted teeth because she feels she wasnt listened to much as a child. Shes restrained with huge dreams.
But while Carter is enjoying her character for Shark, she jokes shes not hooked on the shows legal jargon.
In her words, Expository dialogue never feels natural. Thats why the relationships between the characters are so important and why we have such a great blooper reel!
