Mental Problems That Screw With Your Sex Life

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Viagra and Cialis can help a man with erectile dysfunction but they do nothing for the mental problems that screw with your sex life.

Neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Amen says there are five brain systems that affect a person’s sex style and problems with any of them can have devastating effects on a relationship.

For instance, folks with a small prefrontal cortex are always looking for intense thrills but not much foreplay while people with too much activity in their Anterior Cigulate Gyrus have a “My way or the highway” approach to sex.

Amen says people with problems in their Deep Limbic System have a low sex drive and focus on the negative and those whose Basal Ganglia can’t relax and fear being judged by others.

And if you have low activity in the Temporal Lobe, you could be too aggressive, suffer from depression and not know if someone is trying to pick you up.

Dr. Amen is the author of Sex On The Brain (Harmony Books) and admits that there’s a good chance you suffer from a mental problem because “only 10 percent of the public have healthy brains.”
