Former On-Screen Siblings Still Uphold Friendly Rivalry

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Christy Carlson Romano played Shia LaBeouf’s over-achieving big sister on the Disney Channel series Even Stevens, and admits there’s still sibling rivalry with her former onscreen brother.

Romano says LaBeouf has “come a very long way” since they worked together and she admires his range of acting choices, including Bobby, which is up for “Outstanding Ensemble Cast” at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards this Sunday (Jan. 28).

The two former TV siblings have remained friends in real life but Romano admits there’s an ongoing, but friendly, sibling rivalry between them to this day.

She explains, “People know Shia’s career has really taken off since his Disney days so there’s always a sense of sibling competition on my end to try to one-up him.”

Romano adds, “It’s hard because he’s an amazing actor, but no matter how big he gets, he’ll always be my little brother.”

Romano currently voices the lead character in Kim Possible, which starts its fourth season on February 10.
