‘Stomp The Yard’ Screenwriter Goes Undercover

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The man who wrote the screenplay for the upcoming college film, Stomp The Yard, owes a debt to the man who wrote Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

Gregory Anderson wrote the script to the new film, which deals with fraternity life at a predominately black college.

Although Anderson based the film on his days at Florida A&M University during the 1990s, he decided to do what Cameron Crowe did while writing Fast Times and go undercover at his alma mater a few years ago.

It wasn’t easy. Anderson says he had to avoid certain professors – including his own mom – and couldn’t walk by his old fraternity house in case one of the frat brothers recognized him from his picture on the wall.

Despite those challenges, Anderson decided to come clean to his frat brothers before Homecoming, in part because he knew he’d run into old friends and also to help them win a big “stomping competition.”

Stomp The Yard opens in theaters on Friday (Jan. 12).
