Just ask model Roshumba Williams. Shes one of the judges of Tease, a new game show that pits aspiring hairstylists against each other to see which was is a cut above the others.
Roshumba is one of three judges and the only woman and says shes less interested in the haircut and more interest in how the stylist interacts with the person whose hair is being cut.
Thats important. She says shes seen hairstylists who know all sorts of blow drying tricks and how to work the audience but treat the person whos hair theyre cutting as just a mannequin.
Although shes seen some impressive styles while filming the show, Roshumba says its been pretty emotional at times, such as when one of the hairstylists falsely claimed he knew how to cut African-American hair.
She says the stylist practically butchered the do of a woman who had worn her hair in braids for 20 years and she felt so bad that she still tears up when she remembers the womans reaction at the final cut.
Tease, which is hosted by Lisa Rinna, debuts January 10.
