First Gifts At Nativity: Prozac And Preparation H?

LEHI, Utah (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Three Wise Men were indeed wise when picking out the gifts to bring to baby Jesus and Mary.

Turns out frankincense and myrrh were early forms of Prozac and Preparation H.

Essential oil expert Karen Boren says the ancients used the frankincense to lift their spirits – which doesn’t sound too different from today’s anti-depressants like Prozac.

It may sound like a downer of a Christmas present, but Boren says frankincense was strictly reserved for royalty and was actually a great sign of respect to Jesus.

Myrrh, on the other hand, can act as a natural Preparation H by shrinking and soothing swollen tissue. Boren figures it could have been used to treat the hemorrhoids a pregnant woman like Mary probably suffered while riding the donkey to Bethlehem.

Boren says the oils are still very popular today among people who “celebrate the true origins of Christmas,” and many even believe the oils can cure cancer and bring inner peace.
