AFI Frontman: “Video Games Made Me Who I Am Today”

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Rockers AFI may seem out of this world onstage and they have their love of video games to thank for that.

Frontman Davey Havok admits: “Video games made me who I am today” and that he still has a special place in his heart for “any [game] where I can jump over something, and then eat it and get larger.”

Havok is so addicted to gaming that he admits he’ll stay up into the wee hours of the night – much to the dismay of his bandmates.

Says Havok: “I’ll play Medal of Honor while the other guys are trying to sleep.”

Although there’s no word on what songs pump the guys up while their playing, bassist Hunter Burgan admits they listen to everything from the Spice Girls to Smokey Robinson.

The band is performing tonight (Dec. 13) at the Spike TV 2006 Video Game Awards.
