Styx Finally Sounds Like Styx On New DVD

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The rock band Styx has been around more than 30 years but only now has the group’s true sound been captured.

That’s the note being sung by guitarist Tommy Shaw who says he feels the band’s new concert DVD, One With Everything, is the first time the Styx has been truly been captured.

But they didn’t do it alone.

Shaw says the band hired a 115-piece orchestra, including a 60-piece choir, to help out on songs like “Too Much Time On My Hands,” “Fooling Yourself,” and “Renegade.”

However, he feels the key to the DVD are the songs that aren’t as well known such as “Crystal Ball” and “Miss America.”

In his words, “We don’t want to turn our backs on the stuff we did before we had hits.”

Although the DVD marks the “true Styx” sound, Shaw admits the band won’t be touring with the choir. Still, he says “we NEVER give a bad show, but there are times when we know we’re kicking it up a notch.”
