‘Survivor’ Castoffs Have Basis For Band

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Getting kicked off Survivor won’t win you $1 million but it could get you into a new band.

That’s the impression given this season since three of the castaways are accomplished musicians, including the most recent castoff Nathan “Nate” Gonzalez, who was booted off the show this past Thursday (Nov. 23).

Besides being a violin player, he’s also a successful lyricist currently working on various hip-hop projects.

Although he didn’t get much of a chance to discuss music while on the island, Gonzalez has since discovered that former cast mate Saikou Bunch is an acclaimed jazz bassist while Billy Garcia plays in his own heavy metal band.

Gonzalez admits the musicians share a unique bond thanks to Survivor and admits he wouldn’t mind doing a jam on the show’s reunion special.

In addition, Gonzalez says he’d like to start an ongoing project with Bunch, but admits he probably couldn’t work with Garcia because, as he puts it, “I’m not into metal.”
