‘Somewhere’ In Michigan, Fans Celebrate Christopher Reeve Film

MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Christopher Reeve fans will be flying high over this news: The Michigan hotel where he filmed the 1980 love story Somewhere In Time is offering fans a tribute to the deceased star.

The Mackinac Island Grand Hotel is offering its 16th Annual Somewhere In Time Weekend which starts today (Oct. 27) and goes till Sunday (Oct. 29) for fans who want to visit the site where Reeve filmed the cult classic with Jane Seymour.

Hotel spokesman Ken Hayward expects more than 600 people to descend on the hotel this weekend, dressed to the nines in their early 20th century vintage costumes and ready to talk about all things related to the flick.

Highlights of the weekend include a Somewhere In Time parade and a screening of the flick but Hayward admits he doesn’t know if any of the fans are going to use “self- hypnosis” like Reeve’s character did in the flick to contact the dead actor.

Hayward says the last time Reeve returned to the hotel was in 1994 when he attended the fourth annual celebration, one year before his tragic accident.

Seymour also made an appearance at the festival back in 2003 but has yet to return.
