‘Smallville’ Actress Had No Idea Show Was So Popular

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Smallville has generated quite a following since it debuted five years ago, but it’s popularity was news to one cast member.

Actress Erica Durance plays Lois Lane on the show but didn’t realize the effect her character had on diehard fans until she attended her first show convention a few months ago.

Says Durance: “It’s amazing how they know all the little specifics about every character – I’ve definitely learned a lot from them.”

However, some people cross the line when they’re talking with her and think she actually is a saucy siren like Lane is on the show.

As she puts it, “Some people throw out comments that my character could take, but I have to remind them that I’m not Lois and that’s not my sense of humor and, well, that comment offends me.”

The actress – who has also appeared on such out of this world shows like Stargate SG-1 and Tru Calling – admits the whole “science fiction thing” happened by accident and she plans to further her status as every computer nerd’s dream girl in The Butterfly Effect 2 which premieres on DVD October 10.
