Byron Allen Tells Comedian Friends: ‘Bring The Funny, Leave Opinions At Home’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The funniest place in a comedy club may be the backstage area, not the stage.

That’s the dirty little secret revealed by stand-up comic Byron Allen, who admits: “The funniest nights in my life have been spent with comedians hanging out backstage.”

Allen hopes to recreate that feeling with his new syndicated series, Comics Unleashed, which features a rotating panel of comedians such as Dane Cook, Brad Garrett and Howie Mandel riffing on everyday life.

Although current events may be touched on, Allen insists his show is not anything like The Daily Show or Politically Incorrect.

As he puts it, “I told the comics, ‘Bring the funny and leave the opinions at home.”’

Comics Unleashed debuts Monday (Sept. 25) and the first show will feature Cook, David Brenner and Harland Williams, among others.
