Fire Island Residents Burned Up By Reality Series

FIRE ISLAND, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Residents of Fire Island, New York, are burned up by the new reality TV series recently filmed there, One Ocean View.

Brendan Smith, who runs, says the ABC series is leaving Fire Island locals cold – and they didn’t have a good impression of the cast or film crew when they were filming earlier this summer.

Smith says he passed two cast members on the street and said hello, but they ignored him.

Another time, one of the females on the show was blocking a walkway with groceries and luggage and refused to move, forcing other residents to walk around.

Smith also says he’s heard film crews making the folks on the show repeat their lines over and over again.

Although all this annoys Smith, he says he wouldn’t be so steamed if One Ocean View didn’t portray Fire Island as a glamorous getaway like the Hamptons, instead of the casual bohemian place it really is.

In his words, “On Fire Island, there are no velvet ropes, no drama, no limos, no attitude.”

One Ocean View airs Monday nights.
