Sci-Fi Actress Knows The Science As Well As The Fiction

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Lots of actresses do Sci- Fi series but Debrah Farentino may be the only one who is as interested in the science as the fiction.

Farentino is the star of the upcoming Sci-Fi Channel drama, Eureka, and when she’s not memorizing her lines of dialogue, she’s busy working on her degree in molecular biology.

She decided to get the degree years ago when she started visiting Third World countries to drop off medical supplies and felt she needed a skill that would actually help more than just “being an actress dropping off medical supplies.”

Farentino has scooped up the academic units slowly in between acting stints on shows like NYPD Blue, Hooperman and Las Vegas but says she’s less than a year away from having her bachelor’s degree.

That is, unless Eureka becomes a hit when it debuts July 25.
