‘Survivor’ Melinda Hyder Acting Out On ‘Guiding Light’

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Melinda Hyder may have been the first person kicked off this past season of Survivor, but she’s now being handed a part on The Guiding Light.

Hyder – who is a professional singer and entertainer in Sevierville, Tennessee – plays a waitress on the longrunning CBS soap tomorrow (June 22), and it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for her.

As she puts it, “I’ve been a soap addict since a lady babysat me when I was 3 months old so it was just nice to go on set. To get a part written for me is incredible.”

Hyder’s role is brief, but she says she told producers she’d love to reappear on the show, possibly as a home- wrecker.

In her words: “I’ll told them I can jump in right away. I know what’s going on with all the characters.”

But the best thing for Hyder was the way she was treated on the set, adding: “All the cast members are Survivor addicts.”
