Ty Pennington Oversees 7-Up Tree

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Extreme Makeover: Home Edition host Ty Pennington is unconventional and “Uncola” to boot.

Pennington spent yesterday (May 15) unveiling a 7-Up-shaped tree that is being erected in New York’s Greeley Square, which is getting a makeover of its own.

Ty’s tree is in honor of 7-Up’s 77th anniversary and is a 24-foot topiary shaped like a traditional 7-Up bottle and he figures there are 1400 pounds of vines and flowers in it.

It’s an eye-catching sight and one Pennington believes will become part of the New York City fabric.

As he puts it, “It’s pretty big. I don’t think it’s going anywhere.”

But Pennington is.

He just finished filming the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition season finale and only has two weeks off before starting work on next season.
