Image Of White Limousine Drives Duncan Sheik’s New Album

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some artists are inspired by love but Duncan Sheik was inspired by a limo ride.

Sheik has just released White Limousine, which he admits has a very moody sound that was inspired, in part, by a ride in the aforementioned vehicle.

The man who sang “Barely Breathing” says he came to Los Angeles to play a charity gig and the organizers greeted him with a white limousine he says was “truly horrible” for more ways than one.

He says “There’s this MTV idea of success – scantily clad women, lot of money and valueless behavior – that encourages a lack of thinking. I kept wondering, ‘Is this what they think we want?”’

These days, what Sheik probably wants is a little time to himself.

Besides promoting the album on tour, he’s busy conducting rehearsals for Spring Awakening, a Broadway musical featuring his music that is set to open in June.
