Amy Smart Loves Eagles – The Birds, Not The Rock Group

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Amy Smart isn’t chicken to admit she has a favorite bird: the bald eagle.

The actress, who has starred in films like Just Friends and Starsky And Hutch, is now working on a project called “Eagles Forever!” that is meant to promote the importance of keeping the bald eagle on the Endangered Species List.

Smart says the eagle’s recovery “proves the success of the Endangered Species Act” and wants to raise awareness of the act to youngsters, so she’s asking kids under 12 to submit essays and artwork based on the topic: “The Bald Eagle is Back! Why is that important to America?”

Winners will receive $200 in gift certificates; but Smart admits it won’t be easy choosing who gets the top prize.

Of course, kids who focus on the rock group or the NFL team will probably have their entries removed from contention.
