UFO Researcher Claims Government Wire Taps Are Nothing New

DALLAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – While politicians and Americans are speaking up over President George W. Bush’s use of wire taps, a UFO researcher says that’s nothing new.

Nick Redfern says the U.S. government has been tapping the phones and investigating the mail of UFO researchers since at least the 1950s.

Redfern claims UFO author George Adamski was monitored in the ’50s because the Feds believed he was trying to pass off communist propaganda under the guise of UFO research.

In another case in the 1990s, British-based computer hacker Matthew Bevan broke into U.S. government computer files claiming he was looking for proof of UFOs, but the FBI and Scotland Yard kept tabs on him to make sure he wasn’t stealing defense secrets.

Redfern documents more cases in a new book, On the Trail of the Saucer Spies: UFOs and Government Surveillance (Anomalist Books).
