Republic Of Tea Wants People To ‘Just Say Yes’ To Jerry Garcia Teas

NOVATO, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Republic of Tea is releasing a collection of groovy teas inspired by Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia.

With names like “Shady Grown” and “Magic Herb Blend,” you wonder if anything psychedelic was added to the mix.

Republic of Tea’s “Minister of Enlightenment” Marideth Post reveals there’s “a little bit of a wink” that goes along with some of the tea names, but insists, “All ingredients are legal.”

In fact, there’s not even a hint of mushrooms in any of the teas, though Post says the original artwork on the tins done by Garcia is “somewhat psychedelic.”

So there’s no room for error, she explains that “Morning Brew” is a play on Garcia’s song “Morning Dew”; “Jerry Cherry” is a nod to the Cherry Garcia ice cream; and “Spirit of Sage” is just “a nice soft green tea” that’s good for vocalists.

The teas will be available March 1 and a portion of proceeds will go to a charity called DrawBridge, which provides art programs for homeless children.
