Pittsburgh Screamers Vs. Seattle Screechawks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) - Pittsburgh Steelers fans who are guzzling beer and screaming their lungs out on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 5) may have a hard time discussing the big game Monday morning.

According to voice expert Renee Grant-Williams, beer is the most voice-damaging drink fans can consume because it’s “damaging to your throat” and it makes you prone to “do more things you regret later.”

Grant-Williams says coffee isn’t much better for the pipes, but the coffee-friendly Seattle Seahawks fans may be in better shape because people tend to drink coffee in smaller volumes than cold cans of brewski.

She says it doesn’t matter if you’re at home or in the stadium, salty snacks only make things worse because they can dehydrate the body and cause voice strain.

Grant-Williams says the worst case scenario from Super Bowl screaming would be forming callous-like nodes on the inside of the throat, but she says this can be easily avoided by drinking lots of bottled water.
