Rock Paper Scissors Gets Official US League

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s a new law in town when it comes to the game of Rock Paper Scissors.

A new governing body known as USA Rock Paper Scissors League, has been formed to officiate at US tournaments.

Andrew Golder, who is co-commissioner along with Matti Leshem, says the USARPS League grew out of last year’s tournament hosted by Tom Arnold in Toronto.

Golder says the goal is to “bring the world stage here to America where we believe we have the world’s greatest RPS players.”

The group is already getting vocal on their stance on Rock Paper Scissors games, also known as Ro Sham Bo, where the winner inflicts punishments on the loser such as slaps to the wrist and, in some extreme cases, kicks to the nuts.

In Golder’s words, “We don’t sanction that. We want a clean game.”

The group will oversee its first competition on April 9 in Las Vegas where one grand prize winner out of 250 contestants will take home $50,000 in a Rock Paper Scissors tournament.
