The Crystal Method Make Their Identity Crystal Clear

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Crystal Method have certainly made a name for themselves in electronic music, but some people still get the guys confused with another electronic duo.

Los Angeles-based Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, who started the band in 1993, say they don’t get upset when they’re mistakenly called The Chemical Brothers.

Jordan laughs and says it’s understandable because, “There are similarities. There are two guys in the band...the name starts with the letter C.”

He says because they’re so familiar with the music, the two bands are like “night and day,” but thinks one clear difference is: “They’re British. We’re American.”

For Kirkland, the distinction is much more obvious. In his words, “We’re better looking than them.”

You can decide for yourself beginning January 24, when the new documentary Coachella – featuring live performances from both bands at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California – hits theaters.

Either way, says Kirkland, “It’ll be fun to watch.”
