A Wee Nip Helps Musician Write Irish Drinking Songs For Cat Lovers

AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A folk musician claims a new album called Irish Drinking Songs For Cat Lovers is the cat’s meow.

Austin, Texas-based musician and cat lover Marc Gunn admits he grew up listening to Weird Al Yankovic songs, and says when he sings, he often replaces the lyrics with meows.

That’s what helped take songs like “Wild Rover” and “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” and turn them into “Wild Kitty” and “When Irish Kitty Eyes Are Smiling” for his CD sold at catdrinkingsongs.com.

Gunn claims it’s “sort of destiny.” As he explains, his ancestry is Scotch-Irish, and adds he was born on St. Patrick’s Day, which is also St. Gertrude’s Day, the patron saint of cats.

Gunn claims his songs have been such a hit, he’s already got enough music for a second CD, which he plans to release sometime in 2007.
