The Average New Year Diet Resolution Will End February 3, 9 p.m.

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re planning to go on a diet starting Jan. 1, you can plan to be off it by the beginning of February.

According to research by the South Beach Diet, the average diet resolution lasts 4.7 weeks, which works out to about 33 days, or to be specific: 9 p.m. on February 3.

Not everybody can last that long. About 20 percent of resolution makers quit the diet within two weeks, while 23 percent last less than a month.

There is some good news: A whopping 14 percent of Americans will stick to their diet long enough to reach their goals.
