Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass are the men behind Christmas specials like Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and created 31 other specials between 1964 and 1985.
The last 20 years have been more subdued but Rankin says the duo are planning more works in the future.
While Rankin and Bass are working on new specials, they plan to rely on animagic, the stop-motion animation they pioneered, rather than computer animation.
As he puts it, Animagic is warmer than computer animation and speculates its because theres a human in the back of every puppet who is working to make sure that character gives the best performance possible.
Rankin wont divulge the specifics about future projects but is happy that one of his all-time favorites, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, airs tomorrow (Dec. 2) on CBS.
