Echo And The Bunnymen Prefer Siberia – And The U.S.

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Brooding 1980s rockers Echo And The Bunnymen start a U.S. tour tonight (Nov. 18) in Washington, D.C., and though the band is from Liverpool, lead singer Ian McCulloch feels right at home.

McCulloch considers the U.S. the best country to play in because “New York, San Francisco and San Diego are brilliant names. Plus, it’s so different from place to place.”

He’s so supportive of America that he defends it when other Europeans pan it, saying, “If all you do is debase [George W.] Bush, you miss so much of what’s good about [the U.S.]”

But while McCulloch and fellow Bunnymen enjoy visiting the States, they’ll be thinking as much about Siberia, which just happens to be the name of their new CD.
