Dennis Hopper Sees No Irony In ‘E-Ring’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Dennis Hopper is a counter culture icon so, for some, it’s ironic to see him in a patriotic military show like the NBC drama E-Ring.

But not Hopper. In his words, “It’s ironic to everyone but me.”

That’s because Hopper is more of a “news junkie” than the type of junkie he played in Easy Rider and admits he has TVs constantly tuned to various cable networks to see what’s going on in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Still, he admits it was only when he signed on to E- Ring that he started learning about what goes on in the Pentagon.

And he’s impressed. As he puts it, “It’s the largest office building in the world.”

E-Ring airs Wednesday nights and while producers have asked him to direct a few episodes, Hopper is staying put, preferring to stick to acting for now.
