Jewelers Selling Bling That Sings

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A group of independent jewelers are hoping Americans take a shine to singing diamonds.

Master IJO Jewelers, a group of 865 independent jewelry stores, are currently offering something called an “Arges Diamond Cut” that features 87 facets compared to the 60 found on a normal diamond.

The thing that is really ringing up sales is a CD that comes with each diamond featuring a song created by converting the light waves from the jewel into sound waves.

Jeff Roberts, a spokesman for Master IJO, says each of the diamond ditties is unique to each gem and while some have a pattern or pulse, others are just random notes.

The diamond ditties aren’t cheap though. They start at $3000 for a half-carat of the “singing bling” and bigger rocks are sold to the tune of $25,000.

However, Roberts thinks that’s a good deal because the ring bearer also owns the rights to their diamond’s song and figures some rappers might buy the Arges just to sample the sounds on to their records.
