‘Battlestar Galactica’ Becoming Popular For Date Nights

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’d figure that the Sci-Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica would be popular with net nerds but it’s also popular with loving couples.

That’s what series star Mary McDonnell has learned while playing President Laura Roslin on the series.

Lots of couples tell her that Battlestar is their “date night” show and say the reason is because of her character, a woman thrust into the role of president while secretly fighting breast cancer.

Although males are the stereotypical audience for science fiction, McDonnell is happy that the show is acting as a bridge that brings women to the genre as well.

However, she admits that the show is not part of her own date nights with her husband, actor Randel Mell, but says that’s just because she rarely watches anything after she’s done it.

Battlestar Galactica has its midseason finale tomorrow (Sep. 23).
